Join the Centre for Arts & Artists for Open Classroom on every First Saturday and every Third Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This is a flexible, drop-in style creative space—come when you can and stay for as long as you’d like.
This free, all-ages event offers access to a wide variety of materials, or you’re welcome to bring your own projects to work on. Create independently or collaborate with other artists in a welcoming, supportive environment.
- Please pre-register to help them plan.
- Enter through the west handicap ramp door.
- Donations are appreciated but never expected.
Everyone is welcome—whether you’re experimenting, learning, or simply making time to create.

Pick up something green at our summer plant swap! Drop off your extra or unwanted plants at the library June 6 - 10 and pick up a swap ticket for each plant you bring in. Donations may include houseplants, flowers, vegetables, perennials, and annuals. Bring your tickets back on June 11 between 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. to exchange them for new plants to take home! Doors open at 9:15 a.m., with the movie starting at 10 a.m. Follow Mikey, Mouth, Data, Chunk, and the gang on an adventure full of hidden treasure, booby traps, and neighborhood-saving fun. Free tickets are available at the Newton YMCA or Capitol II Theatre to ensure seating. A $4.50 popcorn and pop special will be offered.
